The workshop “Dairy Days in Ukraine” was held in Vinnitsa on September 23-24, 2015.

The organizers of the workshop were one of the leading enterprises of Ukraine, which produces equipment for dairy industry – PSC “Kalinovskiy machine building plant”, and the enterprises belonging to GEA Corporation - one of the world leaders in the field of food engineering - GEA Processing and GEA Westfalia. Also one of the organizers was MEGA, which produces unique equipment for electrodialysis and water treatment, and Lysoform – representative of the famous company that offers agents for cleaning and disinfection.

The workshop took place in hotel and catering complex Gosteviya, which is located between the Kalinovka and Vinnitsa. This is one of the most famous places of Vinnitsa reg., where you can enjoy a variety of activities and hold such events as technical workshops and conferences.

Topics of the workshop were mainly technical aspects of processing whey, including acid whey – namely, cottage cheese and casein whey.

Among the speakers were the experts of PSC “Kalinovskiy machine building plant” – Andrii Khodos, Mikhail Kirienko, Alla Kirienko, GEA Processing – Morton Anderson, GEA Westfalia – Anatolii Chuprina and Aleksei Grigorenko, MEGA – Tatiana Dymar.

The workshop was attended by leading technical experts of almost all major dairy factories of Ukraine. The participants included all chief engineers of the factories belonging to the company “Milk Alliance”, the managers of “Molokiya”, “Rud”, Andrushevska butter-making factory, Kanev branch of “Cheese Club”, Ichnya MCF, Rykhalsk factory of SMP, “Favorite”, Terra Food, Bogodukhov dairy factory, Kyiv plant “PepsiCo-Wimm-Bill-Dann”, Gaysyn dairy factory, Obukhov dairy factory, Milkiland, “Slavia” and others.

On the first day of the workshop the experts of PSC “Kalinovskiy machine building plant” presented in the presentations a range of equipment of its own production - pasteurization-cooling units for different purposes, CIP stations, cooling-crystallization units for whey, evaporators, and spray dryers.

On the second day the speakers mainly focused on the characteristics of the acid whey processing and economic aspects of the use of evaporators of various types.

The topic of the acid whey processing was presented by Mikhail Kirienko (PSC “Kalinovskiy machine building plant”), Aleksei Grigorenko (GEA Westfalia), Morton Anderson (GEA Processing), Tatiana Dymar (MEGA).

The economic features of processing of different types of whey were presented by Andrii Khodos (PSC “Kalinovskiy machine building plant”).

Within the framework of the cultural program of the workshop it was organized visit to the fountains at Roshen Vinnitsa factory, as well as to the Museum complex on the site of the bunker Werwolf.
